“Innovation Engineering in Industry and the Classroom”
Mr. Linden and Mr. Allison will share the innovation engineering practices as used in both the classroom and with industry to accelerate a continuous flow of innovations, big and small. Innovation Engineering is a groundbreaking program that provides a systematic approach to innovation. The fundamental concepts of the program include tools and methods for creating, communicating, and commercializing meaningfully unique ideas.
Linden Dalecki teaches a variety of courses, including International Marketing, Advertising Management, Principles of Marketing and, most recently, Innovation Engineering. Linden worked in industry as a copywriter, as an online content developer and as a naming consultant for companies He serves as Chair of the Kansas International Trade Coordinating Council and earned a B.A. from The University of Wisconsin – Madison and an M.A. and Ph.D. from The University of Texas – Austin. He is Icehouse Facilitator certified and will be awarded an Innovation Engineering Academic Black Belt later this May.
Todd Allison is the President of Progressive Products, Inc. (PPI). PPI is a manufacturing company located in Pittsburg, KS. Progressive Products is best known for being the manufacturer of the Apex Stages line of mobile concert stages, which was featured on the Discovery Channel’s program How it’s Made. Mr. Allison is also a published artist, inventor, and serial entrepreneur. He earned his BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design, studied business at Pittsburg State University, and received Black Belt training in Innovation Engineering at UMaine. He is currently an adjunct instructor at Pittsburg State University, teaching Innovation Engineering with a focus in the development of new products and services.
