Advanced Manufacturing Institute is a part of the K-State College of Engineering and was established in 1985. AMI is KTEC Center of Excellence and an EDA University Center. The mission of the center is to advance technologies, people, and companies through collaborative engineering and business partnerships.
This site provides an introduction to the center’s research project. The project was funded by US Economic Development Administration and partners throughout Kansas.

The KOIN effort is led by Jeff Tucker, associate director at the Advanced Manufacturing Institute, under the supervision and guidance of Brad Kramer, director at AMI. Manveen Saini, economic development project manager at AMI, oversees all economic development projects at the institute, and Dale Wunderlich, industrial designer at AMI, works with the team to apply design thinking to economic development approaches.
